Is it time for you to move on and earn your license?
Supervision for candidates who will earn their LCSW and LPC
Individual sessions are available
Groups will begin in 2011
I am approved by the Virginia State Board to provide supervision for those seeking to be credentialed as Licenses Clinical Social Worker and part of the hours needed for those seeking to be credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Candidates must register with their board and provide their own liability insurance and secure an intern site.
Supervision is a vital part of professional growth and to be taken seriously. Participation will include regular attendance; assignments will be given weekly; projects will be due monthly in small groups. Candidates will be active learners (and teachers) in the process of supervision preparing for the exam, for private practice, and skills will be developed that can be used in current work place while in supervision. Supervision requires trust and openness and is a relationship that will inspire, motivate, encourage and teach. We all can learn and teach throughout our lifetime, no one has all the answers, no one is an island. Supervision is ongoing growth for all involved in the process. Together we become better professionals and able to help others effectively with empathy, professionalism and skills.
What comes next?
The first step would be for us to schedule a face-to-face meeting. I do not charge for this meeting. If we both agree that we would like to work together, I would need a copy of your resume` or curriculum vita and three professional references. At least two of these references would need to be from a current or recent employer (paid or unpaid employment is OK) or internship supervisor in the counseling, mental health or a related field. You may email me at wswensonlcsw@gmail.com with questions or interest.
